Yay – I finally started my blog!

Ugh, I’m embarrassed to say that it’s been on my to-do list for a YEAR. What’s that about?!?

Well, I had a lot going on with moving, building a business, mothering, volunteering…I was just too busy to write.

But that’s not the real reason for my procrastination, is it?

The other day I was on a coaching call when I experienced a sudden moment of clarity. As we were chatting about habits and how we often justify inaction with excuses that mask our true fears, I realized this was exactly what was going on with me. Gulp.

Have you ever heard of Imposter Syndrome?

I was convinced that I didn’t have anything new or unique to say. There are already so many incredibly smart people blogging in this field. What could I possibly add? Sadly, I’ve written and scrapped many blog posts this year that I thought weren’t good or important enough. But, really, it was me that I thought wasn’t good enough.

In the words of Dr. Brene Brown, “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”

SO HERE I AM.

Now that I got that out of the way, I want to share my goals for this blog:

  • To provide information & resources for those that want to improve their relationships with food and their bodies
  • To support parents to help their kids navigate the toxic messages of diet culture
  • To spread the principles and ideas of intuitive eating and health-at-every-size
  •
We don’t need to fix or shrink ourselves to be worthy of love, respect, freedom, and happiness. We all deserve these things regardless of size, weight, gender, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and everything else.

We are enough as we are.
